blog hiatus

I have been pretty uninspired lately when it comes to this blog- so instead of publishing posts that aren't too interesting or significant, I am just going to take a blog hiatus... indefinitely.

I will be back one day when my creativity peaks again!

slope shredders

We just returned from an adventurous trip to Colorado and had a great time:) Robert's sister, Sara, and her husband, Bryce, live in Montrose, CO with their 8 month old angel of a baby, Gracie, and we went to spend some good QT with the fam as well as a weekend skiing in Telluride.
The highlight of our trip was getting to spend time with this cutie, Miss Grace. She is such a good baby and already has such a personality.
Case in point.....

She is such a little ham! Love her so much:)

Robert's sister, Sara, is the most adventurous person I know. As shown above, this is her idea of a stroll. We pushed Gracie through the mud and up and down Adobe's in the freezing cold weather. I def burned a few more calories than a typical neighborhood walk, that's for sure.
We went snowshoeing in the mountains of Ouray one day and had another intense workout!

I was even okay around a DOG for five days! Definite record!!

And we had to get our pic taken with the Ridgway sign...

We spent the weekend at Bryce's family's cabin in Telluride and went skiing all day
Saturday and Sunday.
If I lived in Colorado, I would ski everyday that there was snow on the mountain. I LOVE IT!
Sara and Bryce are basically professionals so I didn't get the chance to ski with them much while we were there, but Robert and I did hit the slopes together! (even though he is better than I am)
Thanks to Sara and Bryce (and Gracie) we had the best time!
But we were both happy to return to 70 degree weather in Mississippi!
Now on to Mardi Gras!!!!!!!

Thompsons

I just realized that I never even blogged about my best friend's wedding. What is wrong with me?

Whitney and Michael got married in Starkvegas on Dec. 4th and it was the most fun wedding weekend! Everything was beautiful- especially the bride. I think I was more emotional during Whit's wedding/reception than I was during my own. Again, what is wrong with me?

My favorite parts about the weekend were as follows:

- Having my husband, Mom and Dad get to all be a part of the wedding party with me:) They were the greeters!
 - Seeing all of my Starkville AND college friends
 - Jenny Gillentine's rehearsal dinner speech (epically funny)
-  The pj brunch the day of the wedding- it was nice to not have to get completely dressed up that early
- Whitney's feather in her hair at the reception
- Michael's 'Cotton Bale' Groom's cake
- Whitney dancing during the entire reception and not holding back one bit- I swear she had more fun than any bride I have ever seen. And her moves... her moves were at their tip-top best!
- The rap dance CD that Jennifer provided in between sets at the reception- Gosh, I felt like I was back in Miami!!!!!!!!!

It was a perfect weekend for the sweetest couple and for my very best friend:)

Four Christmases

Our holiday schedule was like that out of the Reese Witherspoon/ Vince Vaughn movie as far as going to several different family Christmas celebrations goes. That's what happens when you get married, I suppose.

Here are some pics below from our first Christmas celebration of the season- this one was with Robert and his family two weekends ago.  I have gotten HORRIBLE about bringing my camera with me, so this is really all I've got as far as family Christmas goes--Robert has 3 older sisters- one in Jackson, one in Colorado, and one in South Africa- so everyone flew in for the weekend with their families for the festivities.

We have a 6 month old niece, Gracie, and she was the highlight of the weekend (sorry, everyone else!:).

{Aunt Brit, Aunt Fran and Aunt Julia got Gracie
all dressed up in her Santa dress for church}

{Ridgway siblings & spouses and our nieces and nephew}

{Santa Robert}

Although it was tiring going from place to place over the past couple of weeks for Christmas gatherings with family and friends, we are so thankful to have everyone in our lives!

Tuesday Thoughts

This will likely NOT be a weekly thing, but I didn't really have anything specific to write about today, and I figured I needed to do a blog post.
So...

-Christmas Parties- we have already gone to 3 Christmas parties over the past week (Yates Xmas party in Philadelphia, my office xmas party in Pascagoula & one of Robert's fam parties) and have about 10 more to go! I love Christmas parties- the food, the beverages, the gifts, the excitement.... just NOT the calories that come with everything yummy! I hope we get to go to the tacky Christmas Party in Jackson this Saturday- we couldn't make it back in time for it last year... We are about 50/50 right now.
My friend Alexis and I at the tacky xmas party a couple of years ago

- We had Ridgway family Christmas in Jackson this past weekend- Robert's sisters Julia, who lives in South Africa, and Sari, who lives in Colorado, came in town and we got to see our 6 month old niece, Gracie. I love this kid.
Bath time with The Grace
Gracie in her smocked Santa dress- all ready for church

- We are going SKIING in Montrose/Telluride, Colorado in February! I'm excited- I've never been skiing, so I pray I don't pull a Sonny Bono.

- I am currently obsessed with the Royal Wedding. Ah, to be a princess!
Prince Wills and future Princess Catherine

- Is Christmas really only 11 days away?!?!?!?!?!?!

Realtor Ridgway!

You can call me Realtor Ridgway! Ever since Robert and I moved to Mississippi I have been thinking about going into Real Estate. I have a background in marketing, yacht sales, and public relations and becoming a real estate agent just seemed like something that would be a good long-term investment of my time. I passed my national and state boards last week and got my license in the mail today so it is OFFICIAL!

Black Eyed Peas:)

I haven't had much blogworthy news to report lately, but this definitely qualifies. Robert and I are huge fans of The Black Eyed Peas ( our taste in music is very diverse to say the least) and their new album dropped today and I downloaded it on iTunes at 12:01 a.m.!! )

Can't wait to listen to the whole thing on my car ride to Starkvegas later this week::))
